Green Shores NYC & The Trust For Public Land Present  A Waterfront Vision for Astoria & Long Island City, Queens

A Waterfront Vision was created for the community and by the community with Green Shores NYC & The Trust for Public Land. Hundreds of Western Queens residents came together in the summer and fall of 2010 to participate in seven neighborhood listening sessions and two area-wide brainstorming sessions, generating more than a thousand comments, ideas and solutions for creating a more connected, useful and beautiful waterfront.
Please join us at the Noguchi Museum for a wine & cheese reception as we release the Waterfront Vision Plan for Astoria & Long Island City, Queens.
This is a FREE event and ALL are welcome.

Green Shores NYC is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization which works to enliven the Astoria-Long Island City waterfront by caring and advocating for safe public parks, green spaces, waterways and waterfront greenway.
The Trust for Public Land is a national organization conserving land for people.
The Noguchi Museum is devoted to the preservation, documentation, presentation, and interpretation of the work of Isamu Noguchi. The Museum, the first in America established by a living artist of his own work, contains the world's richest holdings of Noguchi's art.

It's Your Waterfront: Western Queens Waterfront Visioning!

Green Shores NYC & Trust for Public Land held seven public listening sessions throughout Astoria & Long Island City this summer to learn how you are using the waterfront now, how you are getting to the waterfront and what is not working on the waterfront. In October, we asked you to DESIGN THE FUTURE OF THE WATERFRONT by sharing your ideas for ensuring a CONNECTED, GREENER, CLEANER, MORE ACCESSIBLE and USER-FRIENDLY waterfront from Newtown Creek to Bowery Bay. NOW, we want to turn your ideas into reality!

Join us on Wednesday, December 8th for a presentation of your best ideas for improving
the Astoria-Long Island City waterfront.
Help us choose, prioritize, and plan next steps for these projects as we work together to turn our
waterfront wish list into a waterfront action list!

Green Shores NYC is partnering with the Trust for Public Land to produce a community-driven vision for the Astoria/Long Island City waterfront. This summer, weʼre holding a series of Listening Sessions in neighborhoods throughout Astoria and Long Island City, Queens. In the fall, two more Community Workshops will focus on specific issues and ideas for the future!

WE WANT TO KNOW:
Where are you going along the waterfront?
What activities are you doing there?
Which areas are working well?
Which areas arenʼt working well?

This session will focus on the Astoria Park area, which includes Pot Cove, Astoria Park, Ralph DeMarco Park, and the Northwest Corner of our Waterfront.
